Agreement has been reached between the Welsh Government, NHS Wales and Community Pharmacy Wales on a funding deal for community pharmacy for 2025-26.
Pharmacies in Wales will receive a 4 per cent funding uplift for the current year, amounting to £7m, taking total contractual framework fees and allowances to £182m – nearly 30 per cent higher than in 2016-17, according to the Welsh Government.
This “record level of investment” recognises the role community pharmacies play and rewards the effort and dedication of community pharmacy teams, said Jeremy Miles MS, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Services.
“The investment will help to address the immediate challenges facing community pharmacies, while continuing to support progress towards our longer-term ambitions for reform, which are outlined in Presgripsiwn Newydd – A New Prescription,” he added.
